Orenda Test Cell Engineering Group Mobile Engine Test Systems (METS) provide operators with a self-contained test capability that can be rapidly deployed for remote operations.  The degree of mobility is customer defined.  Test equipment such as test stands, control cabs and fuel tanks, can be mounted on wheeled chassis for quick air, road and rail transport.  Alternatively, complete test cell acoustic enclosures can be provided for a semi-portable test capability.  In both cases, set up time is minimized via use of modular designs and robust, military-style quick-disconnect systems.

The Orenda Test Cell Engineering Group has experience in modifying and refurbishing standard METS systems such as the widely used A/E/F/M/W37 series.  In many cases, these systems have exceeded their life expectancy and have become obsolete and difficult to support.  In addition, they do not adequately support new generation engines with digital control interfaces.  Upgrades can range from new PC-based data acquisition and control systems, to newly designed control cabs offering more interior space and improved acoustical treatments.

New designs and upgrades for Mobile Engine Test Systems can be provided for all types of aviation gas turbine and reciprocating engines.

Features:

  • Computerized data acquisition with digital engine control interfaces for the latest generation engines
  • Saves time and money; end-users can test in the field thereby reducing the need to return unserviceable engines to an engine repair facility
  • Universal configurations for multi-engine test capabilities
  • Engine-specific adapter kits
  • Modular design with quick-disconnect interfaces
  • Independent end-user supportability resulting from extensive use of COTS hardware
